In 2023, we had the honor of winning the Innovative Women Award in the South region, promoted by FINEP, one of Brazil's main agencies for promoting science, technology, and innovation. The award aims to encourage female entrepreneurship and strengthen startups led by women who develop innovative solutions with high potential for economic and social impact

This achievement was well-deserved by our founding partner, Sueli Lautenschlager, a reference in her research area that studies the development of new medicines applied especially to neglected diseases, such as Chagas disease. The project submitted to the call for proposals was the development of an intelligent automation system for coagulant dosage in water treatment plants, using artificial intelligence and IoT to optimize processes and reduce operational costs. The initiative was coordinated by our project manager Eloiza Tochio.

Being among the five awarded startups in the South Region was an important milestone in our trajectory and reinforces our commitment to digital transformation in the sanitation sector, promoting efficiency, sustainability, and female leadership in innovation. Get to know the award E-book.

Our project for the automation of coagulant dosing in water treatment plants was one of those recognized in the Digital Waters Program, an initiative by Compesa (Pernambuco Sanitation Company) aimed at finding technological solutions for the main sanitation challenges in the state of Pernambuco.

The public call aimed to select startups capable of developing innovative solutions in conjunction with the Compesa team. Our project was selected in the category of Improving water quality analysis and efficiency in chemical dosing, proposing an intelligent system for monitoring water quality parameters and automating coagulant dosing.

The solution was implemented at the Presidente Castelo Branco Water Treatment Plant (WTP), located in Recife–PE, which has a treatment capacity of 3,000 L/s. The developed system allows for a more precise and efficient coagulant dose, reducing waste, in addition to providing automated and real-time monitoring of quality parameters, improving the stability of the treatment process. Currently, the same project is being tested at the water treatment plant in Maringá-PR belonging to Sanepar.

In the field of home automation, the SSD team seeks to develop complete and personalized solutions for clients with motor difficulties, with the goal of making their routine more practical, safe, and independent through technology.

A standout case was the installation carried out for the client Vitor Antunes, designed to facilitate the control of the main resources of his home, using voice commands, mobile applications, and smart devices, integrating comfort, accessibility, and innovation into a single system. Among the Smart devices installed, our smart switches and smart remote controls stand out; as do the Smart Valve and Smart Flush products.

This project is a concrete example of how technology can — and should — be used to improve people's quality of life, respecting their needs and promoting accessibility, autonomy, and dignity in the home environment.
